The Senior Citizens’ Center in the Plaza Mayor of C\u00e1ceres hosted a cultural event this Thursday that transcended the usual concert format to become a participatory, close, and deeply human experience.<\/p>\n\n

The initiative, promoted by C\u00e1ceres 2031 to mark the center’s 50th anniversary, was designed as a collective gift for its users and succeeded in establishing itself as an example of shared and accessible culture. The proposal also served to recognize the active involvement of the group, which has already participated in previous cultural initiatives such as the “C\u00e1ceres Moves Europe” flashmob, highlighting the leading role of citizens in cultural construction. <\/p>\n\n

The concert featured violinist Yiyun Zhao and violinist Jacob Ormaza-Vera, together with the GLI Chamber Players, as part of the Global Leaders Institute Innovation Summit. The musical program stood out for its innovative character and direct interaction with the audience. During the performance of the piece “Nana,” attendees were invited to accompany the performers with their voices, creating one of the most moving moments of the day. <\/p>\n\n

One of the most valued aspects was the form of interaction with the audience, based on respect, proximity, and naturalness, moving away from paternalistic approaches and reinforcing a direct and authentic relationship with the attendees.<\/p>\n\n

The event brought together more than 70% of the center’s members, highlighting the high level of participation and the interest generated by cultural proposals when they are designed with inclusion and real participation in mind.<\/p>\n\n

The repertoire included works by Dmitri Shostakovich (5 Pieces for Two Violins), Chen Yi (Memory, for solo violin), and several Ecuadorian pieces such as “Alma en los labios,” “Le\u00f1a verde,” “Los bandidos,” and “Nana,” the latter performed together with the audience.<\/p>\n\n

This action is part of the Transculture concept promoted by C\u00e1ceres 2031, understood as a way of experiencing culture that connects generations, territories, and sensibilities through emotion, listening, and encounter.<\/p>\n\n

The organization also wished to highlight the collaboration of Carmen Bohoyo T\u00e9llez, director of the center, for her involvement and willingness to make this activity possible.<\/p>\n\n

The day was immortalized in a group photograph provided by Demetrio Fern\u00e1ndez, reflecting an encounter in which music once again demonstrated its capacity to build community.<\/p>\n\n

This action was made possible thanks to the Global Leaders Institute Innovation Summit and reinforces the idea that culture, when shared authentically, transcends the event format to become a meaningful experience.<\/p>\n\n
