- The general coordinator of the Cáceres European Capital of Culture Consortium encourages Cáceres citizens to submit initiatives that can be included in the bidbook
Iris Jugo, general coordinator of the Cáceres European Capital of Culture 2031 Consortium, displayed this project onThursday to the citizens of Cáceres through the District Councils.
In her speech, Jugo recalled that Cáceres 2031 has established urban-rural dialogue, environmental sustainability, and everything related to quality of life and inclusion as strategic priorities.
In this regard, Jugo emphasized that one of the project’s pillars is citizen participation, with various avenues available for residents to contribute their ideas and proposals, always aligned with these priorities.
The general coordinator of Cáceres 2031 has encouraged District Council participants to submit artistic initiatives aligned with these priorities through the website https://caceres2031.org/es/join-the-candidacy/. Those selected will be included in the bidbook, the official document that will support Cáceres’ candidacy.
For his part, Jorge Suárez, Councilor for Culture, Education, and Commerce of the Cáceres City Council, emphasized that this is “the right time and place” for citizens to learn about the project and, above all, “for them to participate through the tools that have been made available to them.” These tools include, in addition to the official website – https://caceres2031.org/es – the ballot boxes that will be available during the month of October at the city’s cultural centers.
