Cáceres 2031 brings together young creators and cultural agents this weekend at El Ateneo with Periscopio Cáceres ‘Cultura participativa’.

  • The city will become an international cultural epicenter

Cáceres 2031, in collaboration with the Fundación Contemporánea, is holding this Friday and Saturday the Periscopio Cáceres ‘Cultura Participativa’ meeting, which will bring together young creators and cultural agents of international stature.

The main objective of this meeting is to encourage the active participation of young creators and cultural agents in a space for intergenerational dialogue to exchange ideas, co-create initiatives and strengthen citizen involvement in the cultural roadmap of the candidacy.

During the two days of Periscopio Cáceres, practical workshops will be held, including a pitch workshop for cultural projects, another on the design of cultural experiences and a third on funding opportunities at the European level through the Creative Europe program. There will also be formative and collaborative dynamics that will culminate in collective sessions to imagine the “Cultural City Caceres 2031” with European and international references such as Antonio Lopes (director of Tremor Festival), Simon Sharkey (director of The Necessary Space) and Pamela Calsow (cultural manager of the Friends of Panguipulli Corporation), among others.

One of the highlights will be an urban immersion through Cáceres, with tours of community and cultural spaces in the city, which will allow participants to observe their surroundings from a new perspective and contribute from that experience to the final debate on the cultural vision.

In addition, a showcase will be held with ten selected emerging projects, which represents an opportunity for locally based cultural initiatives to present their ideas and become part of the candidacy’s network.

On Friday night, a “Culture Ecosystem Connection Night” will be held where attendees will be able to introduce themselves in short rounds, network with other projects, and build collaborative networks in a relaxed and musical atmosphere.

Saturday’s closing ceremony will serve to reflect on the lessons learned from the two days, integrate the proposals that have emerged and define collective commitments for the cultural future of the city.

A candidacy projected into the future

Iris Jugo, general coordinator of the Cáceres 2031 Consortium, emphasizes that this meeting shows “a city that dialogues, shares and trusts in its youth to project its cultural future”.

Periscopio Cáceres reaffirms the candidacy’s commitment to an inclusive, open and co-responsible cultural model, based on collaboration between people, institutions and communities. The aim is to consolidate a local cultural network that dialogues with Europe and turns creativity into a tool for sustainable development and social cohesion.

Registration for the meeting is open to young creators, cultural professionals, associations, collectives and citizens in general.
