- The project, part of the ‘Generation 2031’ program of Cáceres 2031, has been part of the Urban Agenda and Aldealab initiative ‘Young People Who Move’
This Friday, the Plenary Hall of the Cáceres City Council hosted the presentation of ‘Young people who move’, the Aldealab program linked to the Urban Agenda of Cáceres, within which Generation 31 – Mediating Artists is developed, an initiative also linked to Cáceres’ candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2031 and which has the support of Caja Rural de Extremadura.
The event was attended by the mayor of Cáceres, Rafael Mateos, and councilor Emilio Borrega, who accompanied the young participants in the presentation of the projects carried out together with the mediating artists in recent months.
In this edition, 218 students from the IES Professor Hernández-Pacheco, IES Ágora, IES El Brocense and IES Norba Caesarina educational centers participated, working on issues related to the city, heritage, accessibility, sustainability, climate change or urban identity through disciplines such as graphic design, illustration, comics, performing arts, dance or urban intervention.
The projects have been developed by the artists Santiago López Porras, Olga Duque Elena, Ana García Pérez, Juan Andrés Cabello García and Adrián Domínguez Domínguez, who have guided the students in creative processes that have allowed them to reflect on the present and future of Cáceres from a participatory perspective and committed to their environment.
With this initiative, Cáceres 2031 continues to promote meeting spaces between culture, education and citizenship, placing young people as protagonists in the collective construction of the city through ‘Generation 2031’, one of its flagship programs.
