- The fair begins a stage of greater international projection and will receive artistic proposals from July 6 to September 15
The Belleart Cultural Association opens the call to participate in Arte Apart XII, the twelfth edition of the European Contemporary Art Fair, which will be held from October 9 to November 29, 2026.
This edition marks the beginning of a new stage for Arte Aparte, reinforcing its European dimension and its desire to connect contemporary creation developed in Extremadura with artists, projects and cultural contexts from other countries.
The call is aimed at artists and groups of any European nationality, who may submit their proposals between July 6 and September 15. The complete rules and participation form are available at espaciobelleartes.com.
Arte Aparte XII will maintain its open character, welcoming diverse disciplines, languages, and approaches to artistic practice. The call for submissions seeks to gather a wide range of proposals, from both emerging artists and established creators, and to foster dialogue between the local, national, and European art scenes.
The new European vision of the fair is not limited to expanding the origin of the participants. Arte Apart proposes a model based on cultural exchange, the circulation of ideas and the creation of relationships between artists, institutions, cultural agents and citizens. From Extremadura, the project aims to join a broader artistic conversation without losing its connection with the territory.
The organization will assess the artistic interest of the proposals, their technical feasibility and their adaptation to the spaces and programming lines of the fair. The conditions of participation, the necessary documentation and the submission procedure are included in the rules of the call.
Along with the exhibition of the selected works, Arte Apart XII will develop creation, mediation and participation activities. The programming will also include Rural Synergy, the line of action through which the fair transfers part of its activity to different Extremaduran municipalities and connects contemporary creation with communities and spaces far from the usual cultural circuits.
The 2026 edition will also strengthen its social and educational engagement initiatives. Arte Aparte Junior will once again offer a dedicated space for children and teenagers’ creative work, integrating underage artists into the fair’s program. Meanwhile, Arte Aparte Espacio Inclusivo will continue to promote the active participation of people with disabilities as creators, collaborating with specialized organizations and developing proposals for the creation, mediation, and adaptation of content.
With this twelfth edition, Arte Apart aspires to consolidate itself as a meeting platform between Europe and Extremadura, combining international projection, artistic experimentation and commitment to the social and territorial context in which it takes place.
The resolution of the call and the complete programming will be announced once the selection process is completed.
