Cáceres 2031 participates in the Gozo 2026 Forum to open new avenues for international collaboration

  • The presence of Cáceres 2031 in this forum represents an opportunity to continue consolidating its European dimension

Cáceres’ bid for European Capital of Culture 2031 will participate from July 4 to 7 in the Gozo 2026 Forum – The Time We Spend Together, an international meeting that will bring together representatives of cultural institutions, festivals, public administrations and European projects on the Maltese island of Gozo to reflect on the role of culture in well-being, citizen participation and the future of Europe.

The general coordinator of the Cáceres European Capital of Culture 2031 Consortium, Iris Jugo, will participate as a guest speaker at the international panel ‘Europe’s future’, where she will share the experience of the Cáceres bid together with representatives of the European Festivals Association, the Victoria 2031 Foundation, Arts Council Malta, Festival Malta and institutional officials from the Government of Malta.

The presence of Cáceres 2031 in this forum represents an opportunity to continue consolidating its European dimension by strengthening relationships with some of the main cultural networks on the continent. During the mission, work meetings are also planned with the Victoria 2031 team, the island of Gozo’s bid for European Capital of Culture in the same year as Cáceres, with the aim of identifying possible lines of joint programming and exploring future collaborations between both cities.

The trip will also allow the Transcultura project to be presented internationally, to advance contacts with the EFFE Seal network and to hold meetings with representatives of European cultural institutions and organizations to promote new alliances within the international programming of Cáceres 2031.

Forum Gozo 2026 is organized by the Victoria 2031 Foundation, the European Festivals Association and A Soul for Europe. For three days it will offer a space for exchange between artists, cultural managers, political leaders and social entities around the relationship between culture, well-being and European construction. The meeting was born with the desire to promote cooperation between cultural agents and promote new forms of collaboration from a European perspective.

With this participation, Cáceres 2031 continues to expand its presence in the international spaces of reference for the European Capitals of Culture and strengthens a strategy based on cooperation with other European cities and networks from the bid phase itself.
