- Once again, the Cáceres City Council and Cadena Ser are joining forces to offer two free concerts featuring top-level and emerging artists
The Plaza Mayor will be filled with music this Sunday the 5th and Thursday the 9th with Cadena Dial’s Summer Tour and the 40 Summer Live, events that are organized by the Cáceres City Council in conjunction with Cadena Ser, and that will bring top-level figures to Cáceres for another year. Both concerts are free and will start at 9:00 p.m.
The Councillor for Festivities, Soledad Carrasco, presented the concerts alongside the provincial director of Cadena Ser, José Luis Hernández. She stated, “They have become an essential part of summer in Cáceres and, year after year, demonstrate that live music is one of the great drivers of cultural and social activity in our city. Every year, thousands of people fill our square. And that generates atmosphere, life, economic activity, and a very positive energy in the city.”
Two formats that have something very special “since they bring together many different artists, styles and audiences on the same stage, becoming a unique opportunity to enjoy the biggest names in music in a single night and for free. They work very well because they bring music closer to everyone, especially the youngest, but also entire families and people of all ages.”
They are open, participatory events with an enormous capacity to attract people, “and also designed for everyone since, as on previous occasions, a space is enabled for people with reduced mobility, so that they have the best and greatest visibility possible.”
Carrasco has highlighted that “we are talking about top-level posters. In the case of Cadena Dial, we will be able to enjoy very recognized and followed artists such as Álvaro de Luna, Cepeda, Gonzalo Hermida or Huecco, along with other emerging voices that are defining the current panorama. And a few days later, Los 40 Summer Live will bring to Cáceres names such as Walls, Bombai, Enol, Lola Túduri, Chema Rivas, Pikete or Óscar Martínez, in a proposal specially designed to connect with the youngest audience and with the musical trends of the moment.”
From the City Council “we continue to support a lively cultural program also in summer, because we understand that culture does not stop when the holidays arrive. On the contrary: it is a perfect time to take activity to the streets, to share spaces and to create a city. And doing so, in a place as emblematic as the Plaza Mayor, has a special meaning. It is the heart of Cáceres, the gateway to our Monumental City, the best possible setting to celebrate music and coexistence.”
And this year, in addition, these concerts acquire added symbolism “because they are part of a very important moment for our city. We are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Cáceres as a World Heritage City, an anniversary that invites us to look with pride at our past, but also with ambition at our future.”
And that future passes, without a doubt, through our aspiration to be the European Capital of Culture in 2031. “a candidacy that cannot be understood without participation, without streets, without citizenship and without shared culture. And that is what these concerts represent: a lively, open city, capable of attracting not only the people of Cáceres, but also residents of many municipalities around us, who find in Cáceres a cultural and leisure reference that is rarely found throughout Extremadura”.
“We invite everyone to enjoy these two great events, to experience the summer in Cáceres and to continue demonstrating that our city has the best heritage, but also the best present and, above all, a great future,” Carrasco highlighted.
Hernández thanked the City Council for its support, recalling that “this is the fourth year in which Cáceres has hosted the closing of Dial’s tour and the beginning of 40 Summer Live’s, being the only city in Spain that has both. Cáceres has become a benchmark for these tours.”
He has detailed that “the capacity will be limited to 15,000 people, and there will be controllers at each of the entrances. Drinking bottles are prohibited. We will have a large health facility by the Red Cross with a field hospital. The platform for people with reduced mobility is better located for greater visibility. 12 portable toilets will be installed. There will be 7 access routes and 3 evacuation routes, on Gran Vía, Gabriel and Galán, General Ezponda streets.”
“We bring a repertoire of many artists, both emerging and established. As Cadena Dial closes, there will be a total of 12 artists, and there will be a surprise with a group from Extremadura. And the 40 Summer Live music is much more urban, more consolidated towards new rhythms. We hope that, like every year, the public comes, enjoys and celebrates both the music in Spanish and the latest hits with the 40 Summer Live,” Hernández stressed.
