Arte Aparte looks to Europe and rural areas in an edition bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines

The Belleart Cultural Association and Espacio Belleartes have closed the selection of artists who will participate in the XII European Contemporary Art Fair Arte Apart, whose new edition will begin on October 9 in Cáceres.

The call has received 627 proposals and once again brings together very diverse practices: painting, photography, sculpture, installation, digital creation, textile art, video art, performance, dance, music, poetry, theater and other forms of contemporary creation.
The 12th edition especially reinforces one of the lines that Arte Apart wants to develop in the coming years: strengthening the links between Extremadura and Europe, bringing artists together, generating contacts and creating relationships that can continue beyond the fair itself.

An international presence is not viewed solely as a matter of geographic origins. Arte Aparte aims to use Cáceres as a meeting point for artists from Extremadura, the rest of Spain, and Europe, fostering mutual understanding and exchange, as well as the emergence of new collaborations and synergies.

In this direction, the organization works especially to make possible the presence in Cáceres of Fabrizio Di Salvo, resident in Basel, with his sound project PTERA; Ieva Bražėnaitė, from Lithuania; and Jodie Peyrusse, from France. Arte Apart hopes to be able to bring these artists thanks to the collaboration of local institutions with which it is currently holding conversations, thus reinforcing the connection of the fair with contemporary European creation.

This look towards Europe coexists with another fundamental direction of the project: looking towards the rural territory of Extremadura. Arte Apart wants to concentrate artists, works and experiences in Cáceres for a few weeks and then expand part of those connections to other places and other audiences through Rural Sinergy.

Look towards Europe and look towards the rural. Zoom in and concentrate and then expand and go further. The fair understands both directions as part of the same project: connecting territories, promoting the circulation of artists and proposals and generating relationships between contexts that usually remain distant.
