The general coordinator of Cáceres 2031, Iris Jugo, has participated in the Nijmegen 2033 podcast, an initiative linked to the Dutch city of Nijmegen, which has already officially announced its intention to present its candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2033.

During the interview, Jugo shares the experience of Cáceres 2031 and reflects on the opportunities that a cultural candidacy offers to involve citizens and generate new dynamics of participation. The coordinator especially highlights the importance of listening to people, knowing their needs and creating meeting spaces through culture.

As advice for Nijmegen in this new stage, Jugo invites us to maintain an open attitude, listen without prejudice and understand that a European Capital of Culture is a collective project in which the entire community can find its place.
