Cáceres brings Raphael, Pablo López, Vanesa Martín, Rosario Flores and La Flamenca to celebrate its 40th anniversary as a World Heritage Site

A new musical offering featuring top-tier artists is coming from the City Council. It’s the “Monumental Cáceres” festival, which will bring together Raphael, Pablo López, Vanesa Martín, Rosario Flores, and La Flamenca in September to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cáceres’ designation as a World Heritage Site. “This festival will continue the path we’ve been forging this term, aiming to position Cáceres as a leading city in the concert scene,” Mayor Rafa Mateos emphasized.

Rafa Mateos presented this new festival accompanied by the promoters, Fran Chávez of Agora Espectáculos; and Antonio Merino of Javenex, who thanked the City Council for the trust and effort they make to bring these concerts of top-level artists “and we would like to be able to consolidate it over time to bring great national and international artists.”

The municipal councilor recalled several milestones in this legislature: “We reopened the Multiusos for Ana Mena, Rozalén turned the sand of the bullring blue and pink, Fito attracted 18,000 followers to the fair and we have just presented Extremúsika, with the Sanguijuelas del Guadiana who will surely be a hit in Cáceres in just over 10 days.”

“To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cáceres as a World Heritage Site, music was essential,” he emphasized, “and we wanted it to play a special role. That’s why we designed this ‘Monumental Cáceres’ festival, highlighting our rich heritage and the ambitious goals we have set for ourselves with the lineup of artists we’ve assembled.”

Raphael will perform on September 4; La Flamenca on the 17th; Pablo López on the 18th; Vanesa Martín on the 19th, “all of them in the bullring, demonstrating once again that the Era de los Mártires, which is already being prepared for the San Fernando bullfighting festivities, can have multiple uses, and that it has the necessary conditions to host top-level concerts” and Rosario Flores will perform on the 26th in the Plaza Mayor in a free concert.

“When we say that Cáceres is a city of culture, we don’t say it lightly. We have an amazing September ahead of us. With this festival and these top-level artists, we will kick off the 2026/2027 academic year, demonstrating what this government team means for supporting good music and quality culture. And this will undoubtedly strengthen our case for achieving the European Capital of Culture title in 2031.”

Artists

The festival begins on September 4 with one of the most legendary voices in our country, Raphael, who returns to the stage in 2026 with Raphaelísimo, “a show that further elevates the greatness of his career, in an emotional and authentic journey, which continues to captivate audiences of all generations and musical tastes,” Mateos highlighted.

Taking over on September 17th is a more relaxed offering: La Flamenca, “a commitment to flamenco fusion, which blends contemporary flamenco, more of a flamenco party style, with a flamenco performance and the latest musical hits, thanks to a DJ also on stage. It is a proposal designed for broad audiences: from traditional flamenco fans to new young audiences looking for nights of music, dancing and a good atmosphere.”

The following day, September 18, Pablo López, “who has surprised his fans with the announcement of his new tour ‘El Niño del Espacio en Concierto 2026’ which is touring the best stages in the country, with a repertoire that includes his greatest hits and new works from his highly anticipated album, accompanied by his band and a carefully crafted stage production.”

On September 19th, it’s the turn of one of the most iconic voices in current music: Vanesa Martín and her “Casa Mía Tour”, a tour with which she will travel to international stages, with a collection of unreleased songs that promise to enchant her fans, with the connection with the public that she usually has.

We close the festival on September 26th “with a bang on stage, featuring one of the most beloved voices in our country, Rosario, and her ‘Universo de Ley’ tour, which summarizes more than three decades of her musical career and in which she will perform all her greatest hits. In this case, she will do so with free admission in the Plaza Mayor of our city.”
