- Publishers, writers and people interested in making their literary works known have until September 15
The Department of Culture of the Cáceres City Council, given the great reception in previous years, opens the call for the VII edition of the Literary Autumn in the city, to accommodate all those publishers, writers and possible interested parties who have not presented their works at the XXVI Cáceres Book Fair.
The Councilor for Culture, Jorge Suárez, has indicated that “the objective is to give continuity to this great literary event that little by little has made its way into the literary agenda of our city, during the months of October and November, with the arrival of autumn.”
From the City Council, he added, “we want to bring the literary presentations closer to the different cultural spaces of the city, as in previous editions. Last year we had the collaboration of institutions and individuals as diverse as the Ateneo de Cáceres, Los Siete Jardines, La Madrila Neighborhood Association ‘Peña del Cura’, as well as the Palacio de la Isla itself (headquarters of the Department of Culture).”
Publishers, writers and interested people can send their request to the Department of Culture’s email: concejalia.cultura@ayto-caceres.es. The deadline is open until September 15.
If not all presentations of the total number of applications could be carried out, “the City Council will reserve the right to select the works that will be presented in the VII edition of the Cáceres Literary Autumn, taking into account criteria of diversity of literary genres, themes, authors, etc.”
The “Julián Rodríguez Marcos” Municipal Library, promoter and organizer of the Literary Autumn, will receive as a donation a copy of all the works presented within the program.
Within the Literary Autumn program, he stated “we will dedicate October 19 to the celebration of ‘Women Writers’ Day’, joining the call that the National Library makes to all Spanish libraries.”
“We encourage publishers, writers and all those interested in making their literary works known in the city to send us their proposals. We trust that this seventh edition will have the great success of the public and presentations of previous calls and, once again, will welcome great works and writers, in their multiple literary genres,” Suárez highlighted.
