New perspectives for the Cáceres 2031 programme
The Open Call was launched with the aim of opening up new avenues for collaboration as Cáceres 2031 continues to develop its cultural and artistic programme. It was addressed to artists, independent professionals, collectives, organisations and cultural institutions from Extremadura, as well as from other parts of Spain, Europe and the wider international community.
The call covered a range of areas in which Cáceres 2031 had identified opportunities to incorporate new proposals, without restricting submissions to specific artistic disciplines, thereby encouraging a diversity of approaches and formats.
With the submission period now closed, the Cáceres 2031 team is analysing the projects and exploring how they could connect with the bid’s wider programme, taking into account their alignment with the cultural project and the Europeandimension of Cáceres 2031.
The response to the Open Call also strengthens the international outlook of the bid and its commitment to connecting Cáceres and Extremadura with creators and cultural professionals from different territories, building new relationships thatcan leave a lasting legacy and extend beyond the journey towards becoming European Capital of Culture in 2031.
