Cáceres 2031 participated last week in the 16th International Culture Next Conference, held in Larnaca (Cyprus), a European meeting that brought together representatives from nearly 50 cities linked to the European Capital of Culture candidacies and programs.
The conference, organized under the motto “Culture for CCS – Empowering the Cultural & Creative Sectors”, has served as a space for work and reflection on the role of culture in the sustainable development of cities, international cooperation and the strengthening of the cultural and creative sectors.
During these days, the Cáceres 2031 delegation held meetings with European cultural leaders, creative agents and international institutions, consolidating new strategic alliances and building collaborative networks for the city’s cultural future.
Furthermore, participation in this international forum represents an important step towards the incorporation of Cáceres 2031 into the European network Culture Next, a platform that brings together candidate and former candidate cities for European Capital of Culture with the aim of promoting transformative cultural projects and sharing experiences of urban innovation through culture.
The presence of Cáceres 2031 in Larnaca reinforces the European dimension of the project and its commitment to a connected, participatory culture that generates opportunities. The bid thus continues to expand its international cooperation network and position Cáceres within the main European spaces for cultural dialogue.
Culture Next began as a support and collaboration network among European cities linked to the European Capital of Culture program and currently comprises around 40 cities across the continent. Its objectives include knowledge exchange, the creation of international partnerships, and the promotion of sustainable cultural policies.
