The Official Gazette of the Province of Cáceres has published the bases of the call for the granting of subsidies for cultural, creative and artistic creation projects and activities, on a competitive basis. The call is endowed with 35,000 euros, and the deadline for submitting applications ends on August 17.

The cultural activities object of this call will be related to the disciplines of theater, music, dance, cinema or literature, whose purpose is to promote and disseminate music, cinema, theater, dance and literature through their programming, provided that the activities are intended for the general public and are free of charge, as well as the promotion and creation of cultural products and activities aimed at promoting creativity and citizen participation.

Those activities that promote the apology of violence, discrimination, the consumption of toxic or addictive substances or intolerance will not be subject to subsidy.

Natural or legal persons, entities, non-profit cultural associations, and groups may be eligible for subsidies. In the case of non-profit entities and associations, they must prove their registered office in the municipality of Cáceres and be legally constituted and registered in the Municipal Register of Entities of the Cáceres City Council before the deadline for submitting applications. This may be verified ex officio by the Cáceres City Council, and they must expressly state cultural objectives in their statutes, within the article relating to the purposes of the association.

Political parties or union associations, nor their sections, unions, federations and confederations, etc., may not be beneficiaries of the subsidy.

The application and the Annexes can be downloaded from the Culture Portal of the Cáceres City Council: http://www.ayto-caceres.es

The Councilor for Culture, Jorge Suárez, highlighted that “from the council we seek the quality of the projects, so that citizens and those who visit us can enjoy a city that is a cultural reference not only in the province but also in the region.”

“It is the path in which we have to continue working to achieve the long-awaited European Capital of Culture in 2031. We are not going to stop until we achieve it and in this way involve all of society, the associations and groups that want to add their grain of sand to this project,” he stressed.
