About fifty people participated today in the First Transforming Circle, an initiative promoted by the candidacy of Cáceres to the European Capital of Culture in 2031 and that has had the support of Impact Hub, the Mercedes Calles and Carlos Ballestero Foundation and the Strategic Funds team of the City Council of Cáceres.
The general coordinator of the Consortium Cáceres European Capital of Culture 2031, Iris Jugo, explained that through this circle “different agents and people begin to work in collaboration to think about what is the city we want in the future, and do it from the culture”. As he stressed, this is an initiative that already appears in the project that has been presented and will be evaluated in the coming weeks, and “is something that speaks of the potential of Cáceres and its region to dialogue and begin to design that shared future”, all framed in the concept of Transculture, which vertebrae the capital of Cáceres.
For his part, Rafa Cobo, from Impact Hub, pointed out that the idea is to reflect on “how we face culture as an enabler of all the transformations that we as a society need to make today”.
In this sense, he detailed that a transforming circle “helps us to bring together a very diverse group of people, in which there are cultural agents, but there are also people from the world of academia, business, social organizations, institutions… To develop that culture from which to work together”.
Mediating artists and Urban Agenda
On the other hand, Jugo has advanced that during the day has also been presented “an innovative concept, which are the mediating artists”. The idea is that these artist mediators collaborate with the development of the Urban Agenda of Cáceres by bringing it closer to the educational centers.
It has been, in short, “a day of dialogue, mutual understanding and design of activities for the city that we are creating together”.
